What is STEM in Education.

Writing this article reminds me of growing up in a rural village setting in Uganda. In my early years of school what we call pre-primary today, the learning was done through writing down on the ground because majority of us did not have books.

Fun experience that in modern day, we build our children sand pits to have fun which is most of the time restricted. Anyways, let me go back to why I decided to write this piece.

STEM Education!

This is the teaching of Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) with emphasis on preparing the learners to excel in their careers. I was introduced to this field in my early thirties by my mentor -Rugyendo Arinaitwe, God bless you.  I fell in love with this type of education.

Majority parents tend to think that STEM prepares children to be Engineers only, heaven no! The skills gained from STEM education go far beyond being successful in STEM fields. In the process, children acquire skills that enable them to be successful in various fields outside STEM fields.
